1. Whose information I hold

2. What information I hold

I do not ask you to supply special-category personal information. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information in enquiries or project files.

3. Where it comes from

4. Why I use it, and the legal basis

PurposeLegal basis (UK GDPR)
Replying to enquiries and preparing quotesLegitimate interests (responding to you), or steps before entering a contract
Carrying out commissioned work, invoicing and getting paidPerformance of a contract
Keeping financial and tax recordsLegal obligation
Sending a short, relevant introduction of my services to professionals in the music and games industriesLegitimate interests where permitted (promoting my business to relevant professional contacts), or consent where required

I also comply with applicable electronic-marketing rules. Public availability of an email address does not by itself provide consent; where consent is required, I obtain it before sending marketing.

When I contact you for the first time about my services, it is a one-off, relevant introduction. I will not add you to a mailing list.

5. Your right to object

You can ask me to stop contacting you at any time – just reply "no" to my email or write to russell.music.uk@gmail.com. I will stop straight away. I will keep only your email address on a "do not contact" list, so that I do not contact you again by mistake.

6. Who I share it with

I do not sell your information. I share it only where needed to run my business:

Some of these providers or partners may be based outside the UK. Where information is transferred abroad, I rely on the protections required by UK data protection law (such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual safeguards), and share only what is necessary.

7. How long I keep it

Retention reviews for outreach, enquiries and client records are carried out manually; these periods do not mean that automated deletion has been implemented. Relevant records may be retained longer where legally required or while a dispute is reasonably anticipated or ongoing, and are reviewed when that need ends. Working files are not promised indefinite hosting.

8. This website

This website does not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers. It uses its own optional website statistics only after you accept them. Refusing statistics does not affect access to the website or enquiry form.

With your consent, statistics store a random visitor identifier in browser local storage and record visits, page paths, a referring website address (origin and path, without query parameters) where available, relevant enquiry-link clicks, dates and estimated time with the page visible. Coarse country, region and city are supplied by the hosting network and may be unavailable or inaccurate. The statistics database does not store raw IP addresses or link the visitor identifier to your name, enquiry, email or payment details. Hosting and network providers may process IP addresses and security logs to provide their services.

Visit records are scheduled for deletion after 90 days; removal runs when the statistics service next processes a visit. Your choice is remembered for 180 days. Use “Privacy choices” in the website footer to reject or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops ongoing measurement and removes the visitor identifier from that browser; a final update to the existing visit may be sent as you withdraw. Previously collected records remain subject to the retention period. Optional statistics rely on your consent.

The enquiry form may keep a temporary draft in session storage while you complete it. A display preference may be kept in local storage. These support the requested form and interface. Website sign-in and hosting services may also use necessary authentication and security storage.

Sites provides website, database and file hosting; Resend delivers website transactional emails; Gmail handles correspondence; Wise and Starling provide payment services. Reference exchange-rate requests use Frankfurter. These services receive the connection or account information necessary to operate. This notice also covers the shared enquiry administration and optional statistics used by the Beijing Scoring section.

9. Your rights

If the law permits an extension for a complex request or multiple requests, I will explain the reason and the revised deadline within the initial response period. 10. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please contact me first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.
